Lens & Light Studios

about me

Truthfully, I owe all of my photography experience to my great aunt Cindy, who gifted me my first ever digital camera before a cross country road trip. I had mentioned wanting to invest in a camera to capture the beauty of the southern and northern routes, and the next day she showed up with a Sony a55, and all the parts to match. With no knowledge beyond the general, trial, error, and a little help from friends and family has gotten me to where I am today.

I currently shoot on a Sony a6000 with a variety of lenses - including some film lenses that I've adapted to the camera body. Mostly, you can find me sitting outside photographing the birds of my neighborhood. However, portraiture, and fast-action photography are the fields I would love to delve deeper into. I am a former field hockey player and rower, and now I study the art of skateboarding. (It goes without saying, skateboarding is the most fun to photograph).

In addition to photography, I paint, draw, play guitar, bass, and the banjo. There isn't a single artistic form that hasn't caught my attention yet. And thankfully, I can't seem to shake the bug. I am always looking for more ways to elevate my crafts and to imagine the next intricate piece. I created this space to showcase an art form that I've really cared about, and one I will continue to nurture.
